Pros: As an electrical engineering student, I needed an advanced calculator to handle the large matrices, linear equation solving, symbolic equation manipulation, 3D graphing and ect. I doubt I will need it either, but if I do, I'm sure what I have will be more than good enough. And a graduate physics student also told me he has a TI calculator but had never used any of the programming features for all his studies. and said he wished he hadn't bought the TI 89 last year. Everything is better and more convenient.(screen/battery/input/speed/etc.) My math TA who is a graduate math student and has a TI 89 titanium played around with my calculator for a few min. I decided to spend the money and try this one out. I had used the TI 82, 83+ in high school and my current roommate has a TI 89 titanium.
